Note: Domingo Santos (the best-known pseudonym of Pedro Domingo Mutiñó) is a Spanish writer of science fiction. Robots and artificial intelligence, and their relationship with humans, are a recurring theme in his work, as is the depiction of a depleted post-apocalyptic society that retains myth-like memories of past civilization. He has also written space opera under the pseudonyms Peter Dean and Peter Danger. In 1968, Santos founded the magazine Nueva Dimensión along with Sebastián Martínez y Luis Vigil; the magazine was important in encouraging Spanish authors, which it published alongside translated stories. He has been active in magazine, book, and anthology editing, and has been one of the judges of the Premio UPC. (Subsequently, he was twice recognized by the Premio UPC.) In 1992, the organizers of HispaCon '92 gave Santos a special award (which they called a "Premio Ignotus" although it was not an official Premio Ignotus.) At the same time they established a competition for short speculative fiction in Spanish, the Premio (or Certamen) Domingo Santos.
