Synopsis: What are Mexicans and Argentines conjectured about? What are they speculating about? The narrative of the "what if?..."What if" is a state of consciousness that allows for alternative approaches to almost anything. What are those "anything" that mobilize us, detonate the themes and desecrate the temples consecrated by realists and cowards? This kind of fiction is what is contained in Extremos. There are dystopias, of course, engendered in the bosom of human stupidity, dark futures that have been born in our own night and dye the day with shadows, dystopias of various types and coats, given that Mexicans and Argentines are good at looking at the present and the future in a thick layer of pessimism. But there is humor, of course, of course. Conjecture facilitates the conception of absurdities and paradoxes, expanding the idea of the impact produced by technological and cultural changes to permeate the entire global universe. There are also bold uses of the metaliterary by bringing together elements that exist in different universes: the "real" universe, the fictional, the alternative universe, neither real nor fictional, of those who are not but still alive in art. And these are only warm approximations to the vast palette of colors contained in Extremos. Synchronies and unexplained phenomena. Extravagant reductions, homemade time machines, impossible beings, hallucinations capable of configuring a discretionary reality; bold and arduous literary experiments, containing elements of diverse species and at the same time running through a certain number of conjectural lines. ¿Qué conjeturan mexicanos y argentinos? ¿Sobre qué especulan? La narrativa del "¿qué pasaría si...?" propicia infinidad de variantes, promueve audacias y origina un estado de conciencia que permite enfoques alternativos de casi cualquier cosa. ¿Cuáles son esas "cualquier cosa" que nos movilizan, detonando los temas y profanando los templos consagrados por realistas y cobardes? Esta clase de ficciones son las que contiene Extremos. Hay distopías, por supuesto, engendradas en el seno de la estupidez humana, futuros oscuros que han nacido en nuestra propia noche y tiñen el día de sombras, distopías de variados tipos y pelajes, habida cuenta que a mexicanos y argentinos se nos da bien mirar el presente y el futuro parapetados tras una gruesa capa de pesimismo. Pero hay humor, como no podía ser de otro modo. La conjetura facilita la concepción de absurdos y paradojas, expandiendo la idea del impacto producido por los cambios tecnológicos y culturales hasta impregnar la totalidad del universo global. También hay usos audaces de lo metaliterario al unir elementos que existen en universos diferentes: el universo "real", el ficcional, el universo alternativo, ni real ni ficcional, de los que no están pero siguen vivos en el arte. Y estas son solo tibias aproximaciones a la vasta paleta de colores que contiene Extremos. Ucronías y fenómenos inexplicables. Reducciones extravagantes, máquinas del tiempo caseras, seres imposibles, alucinaciones capaces de configurar una realidad discrecional; experimentos literarios, audaces y arduos, que contienen elementos de especies diversas y recorren, al mismo tiempo, un cierto número de líneas conjeturales.
