  • Sub-series of: Perry Rhodan Heftserie
  • Note: Weekly magazine that was first published by Moewig as owned by the publishing house Heyne, then by Pabel-Moewig in ownership of the publishing house Heinrich Bauer; today the magazine is published by Heinrich Bauer. The magazine was initiated by the publisher's chief-editor for men's fiction Kurt Bernhardt who asked Clark Darlton and K. H. Scheer to develop a plot outline for the first ten novellas of the novellas that are the main content of every issue. A list of further plot editors can be found here, but note that ideas were supplied by all responsible editors and contributing authors. The exact time span of Darlton's involvement is unknown, sources credit him at least for the first two cycles (novellas #1-99); also, William Voltz may have been involved at an earlier point of time as is known today. The regular publication day-of-the-week was changed on several occasions. The first issue was reportedly published on Friday, the 8th of September in 1961 and #500 as well on a Friday, the 26th of March 1971. The mysterious 'surplus' issue was introdcued by Moewig changing the day publication first from Friday to Wednesday sometime in the 1960s and (at least) a second time back from Wednesday to Friday with February 1971. Source for the latter: German Science Fiction Times, Nr. 118/19, p.39. Note that Perrypedia on the whole is a trustworthy site on the series, but obviously has still some problems with the correct dating of some issues. Please note that in July of 1973 the day of publication was once more changed, this time from Friday to Tuesday, and a further time in December of 2003 from Tuesday back to Friday, introducing one more 'surplus' issue.
