  • Note: US monthly magazine, 1881 to 1930 The Century Magazine published by The Century Company, New York Successor to Scribner's Monthly -- Wikipedia London publishers include F. Warne & Co. 1886, T. Fisher Unwin 1889 98 semiannual volumes of 6 issues, continuously numbered as vols. 23-120: Volume numbering incorporates Scribner's Monthly as vols. 1-22. Indeed, the front cover, November 1895 (Harvard University bound volume viewed at HathiTrust), proclaims the 25th Anniversary Number of The Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine. One catalog record (not the only) at HathiTrust Digital Library (HDL) covers a full view, complete or nearly so, for 1870-1923 (Vols. 1-105) under both titles. At least Vols. 23-86 (1881-1913) are also numbered New Series, Vols. 1-64 (all in roman numerals) Those may routinely comprise p[1]-960 in six 160-page issues, but vol 32 runs to p972 (plus unnumbered front or back material). Price $0.35 and $4.00 per year in advance, as of vols 32, 38 Price $0.35 as of vol 51 (1895/96) Price $0.50, or $5.00 per year in US, as of vol 105 (1922/23)
