Note:
The land of the lost mammoths is on the east coast of Greenland and the second book is set primarily on Socotra, off the south coast of Yemen.
The adventures feature prize-winning science students, brothers Jack and Conor and friend Julia – the writer's sons, living in Ireland, and a friend in the US; "real children".
"I break with fiction convention by including footnotes to guide readers curious to know more about trikes, mammoth cloning, lost Vikings, Knud Rasmussen, the culture of East Greenland, Norse magic, ice caves, and more. Within the fantasy there are numerous islands of historical fact and science."
