- The Berkley edition added two stories to the 1947 Arkham House first edition. It also reverses the order in which the various sections were published in the Arkham House edition, but keeps the same order of the stories within the sections.
- Leiber's 1947 introduction is on an unnumbered page, but according to the table of contents it's on page "xi", which is the page given in the 1978 Berkley edition. It has been recorded as starting on page [6] in this record in order to keep it separate from the new 1980 introduction which runs on roman-numeraled pages "v" through "xv".
- There is a full-page photograph of the author on page ii credited to Jay Kay Klein on the copyright page.
