Notes: An edition of 750 copies, 550 regular hc (blue covers), and 200 copies (at $17.95) signed by the author and illustrator (tan cover). The verification copy, #16 of 200, has a DJ that still lists the $12.95 price, but is an authenticated edition, hence it seems likely that the DJ was not printed with the $17.95 price. The signed, limited edition has a number line beginning at "2". One Abebooks dealer reports a regular hc edition with a number line from 2, so it seems likely that the "first printing" refers to the tp edition. Illustrations by Dowling include 5 full-page drawings, two half-page drawings, and decorated initial letters for each chapter. The limited edition re-uses the smaller drawing from p. 215 as a "limited edition" bookplate that lists the number.
