Notes:
- Merritt's unfinished novel "The Fox Woman" was completed by Bok, who wrote "The Blue Pagoda".
- Per "The Science-Fantasy Publishers: A Bibliographic History 1923-1998", Chalker & Owings, 3,000 copies were printed all with a limitation page stating the numbering of each copy out of 1,000.
- The second state has a picture of a nude woman on page 19. Chalker and Owings assert 2,000 copies of this state.
- Half, or more of the second state were numbered by the publisher. Some were left unnumbered, though numbers may have been later added by booksellers
- Currey gives no priority to the states, and states that more than 1,000 were printed, but does not give an exact number.
- First published together in this edition.
