"Originally intended to be illustrated by Walter Crane, but, as Crane later recalled, 'he was so eager to get his first book out that he could not wait for the pictures, and so the Glittering Plain first appeared simply with his own initials and ornaments'...Hence in 1894 Morris produced another edition of the book (see A22) - the only Kelmscott Press title to be printed twice - with illustrations by Crane".
