    • Limitation page appears after the front loose endpaper with the statement: "This leather-bound First Edition is personally signed by Connie Willis". The author's signature is below this statement. At the bottom is stated "Number [copy number] of 900" in which the copy number is handwritten.
    • "COLLECTOR'S EDITION" (over) "Bound in Genuine Leather" stated on the title page. "SIGNED FIRST EDITION" printed on the spine.
    • "The special contents of this edition are copyright © 1997 by the Easton Press..." stated on the copyright page. No stated date of publication. The date given for this record is assumed to be correct, although it's possible, based on the date of the "Certificate of Authenticity" that the book appeared before the January 1998 publication of the Bantam Books trade edition.
    • The frontispiece, credited on the title page and the copyright page, appears on the page facing the title page.
    • Part of "Signed First Editions of Science Fiction" series, according to several sources, even though neither the series name nor its logo appears in the book or the accompanying certificate.
    • No ISBN, no printed price, and no dustjacket as issued.
    • Pages are gilt-edged and there is a cream satin bookmark bound into the book, with pumpkin-colored moire fabric endpapers.
    • The uncredited decorative cover design is repeated on the back.
    • The laid-in "Certificate of Authenticity" is signed by the author, a witness and the publisher, hand-dated "9/23/97".
    • This is possibly a facsimile reprint of the Bantam Books trade edition based on the page count.
    • The introduction is author-dated "October 29, 1997".
