    • Both UK and US Amazon sites state "1st edition". Wikipedia displays an image of the same front jacket, with caption "First edition cover". Its stub article does not identify the publisher, nor say that the book was first published in Britain. Indeed, it leads: "The Strange Case of Mr. Pelham is a 1940[1] novel (later in book form in 1957) ...". But its source reports a 1940 short story with the same title (see the novel record).
