    • Adam Fry and Hans Souderman, character illustrations are without signature, but the second is credited on copyright page (by page number).
    • Foreword has inset Dedication, both are separately attributed to David H. Keller, M.D. Foreword is a prefatory attribution for the story with editorial commentary (as printed). Dedication is a short appreciation to Maurice Maeterlinck, author of The White Ant. Separately listed because of connection to the new introductory material.
    • Apparatus for the Detection of Substratum Communication Among Termites is from Science, June 21, 1929, [Vol. LXIX, No. 1799] with notation directly beneath. Unclear if this was orignal material or editorial material inserted. Possibly it is all art as there is an art credit for the page, but that art is not signed.
    • David H. Keller, M.D. is not separately credited, large "B" at bottom right portrait. [2] is a duplicate.
    • Interior art is by year given on copyright page. Not all were so listed.
