    • The copyright page includes a reference to the novelette onwhich it's based and its publication history, the copyright notice, "Published by arrangement with Ballantine Books", "A Division of Random House, Inc.", the address, "Printed in the United States of America" and "ISBN 0-345-35050-2".
    • There is no gutter code on page 243.
    • The boards are gold, with a brown spine extending 1 inch into each cover, with gold lettering.

    • [Speculation/excuses] This is a reprint version by Doubleday. I have left the publisher with the SFBC in spite of the Ballantine ISBN and permission because of the book club number on the back cover. The cover image is the same as the book club editions, but the title font is different, suggesting something, although I know not what.
