Of note is the reference to "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas". The book was entered at the Clerk's Office with Congress in 1869 by D. Appleton & Co. William Lackland is credited with the translation and the text matches. The title page includes the attribution to the fictional Dr. Ferguson notes. The illustrations are noted, but not credited on the title page. A similar cover style was used by John Wurte Lovell in 1881.
