  • 3 volumes This is not the 1st ed., 1st printing (known to be dated 1847) but there is nothing inside to suggest a previous printing. British Library catalogues only one early copy from Newby, record BL 003996569 as 2nd edition, 1847. The title page author credit may be abbreviated as it is here.
  • The only printed pages are the three title pages (verso blank), the narrative ([1]-339, [1]-350, [1]-381), and one back leaf in Vol III. Namely p[383-84], "Mr. T. C. Newby's New Works": I to V, with excerpts from reviews or notices, every one under heading "In Three Vols., Post 8vo." (no prices, this work not listed).
