The World Publishing Company
This publisher generally has codes on the title page that indicate the impression number and actual print date. A first printing will have a code such as "WP 9-50" indicating a printing month of 1950-09 (although the actual publication date might be slightly later than that, e.g. 1-2 months). This format may vary slightly, e.g. "WP363", "FD566", or "BPWP865". (We do not know what the "FD" or "BP" represent.) Later printings will be indicated by a number preceding this code, e.g. "3HC1058" indicates a 3rd printing, printed in Oct. 1958.
Alfred H. Cahen, once from Poland, in 1905 "opened his own bindery in Cleveland, the beginning of the Commercial Bookbinding Company". In 1928, "The World Syndicate Publishing Company was acquired along with their office in New York City."
