Note: 1959 to 1961 1984(?) to present Looking Glass Library was created by Jason Epstein, Celia Carroll, and art director Edward Gorey in 1959. It published "28 volumes of classic children's books between 1959 and 1961" (published by Epstein & Carroll; "distributed by Random House"). See publisher Epstein & Carroll for more information. The Random House publication series or imprint, from 1984 or so, has reissued (commonly with LGL text, illustrations, and cover art) many or all of the original titles, and newly issued many others.
