- According to Jane Yolen these chapterbooks were each sold for 25¢. This, however, must refer to some later printings, because The American Bookseller, Sept. 16, 1878, p. 325, lists them at 15¢ each. (We do not use this reference for the date, because we suspect this is an advance announcement.)
