Synopsis: Malpertuis: house of terror ... "She is there, with its huge boxes in balconies, its porches flanked by massive stone ramps, its cruciferous turrets, its twin lattice windows, its menacing serpent sculptures and gargoyles, its studded doors. She sweats the arrogance of the great men who live in there and the terror of those who graze it. The facade is a serious mask when one looks in vain for some serenity. It is a face contorted with fever, anxiety and anger, which can not hide what is abominable behind it. "
