Note: According to a letter from the author (available on the Web), this novel set about Drizzt was written but never published. TSR had commissioned Mark Anthony to write it at a time when R. A. Salvatore, the author of the original Drizzt books, and TSR, the publisher who owned the rights to the character, were no longer working with each other. By the time the novel was finished, TSR had been purchased by Wizards of the Coasts and Salvatore was once again writing for them. At that point the novel was canceled to make way for new Drizzt novels by Salvatore.
