Synopsis: A man is making his way homeward along the Seine in a small boat. He drops his anchor to smoke for a while. At once he is disturbed by strange turbulence in the water. He tries to raise the anchor and is unable to. A thick mist appears along with an intense sensation of terror. After he endures this for a while it dissipates, but a grisly discovery suggests the reason for it.
