- First publication in 1911 as a serial in the French newspaper Le Matin.
- First book publication in two separate volumes in 1922 (Joseph Ferenczi & fils), respectively called Le mystère des XV and Le mystère des XV: Le triomphe de l'amour.
- Each volume was later published as Le secret des XII et Les conquérants de Mars, 1954 (André Jaeger).
- The unsold copies of these two volumes were then bound together in an OMNIBUS in the 1950s (Éditions d'Hauteville).
- The diverse translations below seem to be based on the complete series.
