Note: The Japanese title of this novel, 世界の終りとハードボイルド・ワンダーランド, is transcribed as Sekai no owari to hādoboirudo wandārando in the Revised Hepburn notation, and means literally "The End of the World and Hard-Boiled Wonderland". It is composed of 世界, sekai, "world", の, no, "of", 終り, owari, "end", と, to, "and", ハードボイルド, hādoboirudo, "hard-boiled" and ワンダーランド, wandārando, "Wonderland", these last two words being the phonetic rendition of the English ones, written in kana.
