Synopsis: A prisoner condemned to death is pardoned, only to learn that the end of the world is imminent. The Earth is to be evacuated, but like a few other people uninterested in this future life, he decides to stay. He is surprised to see that none of the rockets take off on their expected day of departure. He then meets an official who calmly informs him that all those rescue rockets were in fact...gas chambers.
