Synopsis: In 2022 the Islamic candidate Mohammed Ben-Abbes runs for the French presidency and wins in the final election against National Front leader Marine Le Pen. The new president campaigns to enlarge the European Union to include North Africa, with the aim of making it a new Roman Empire.
Against this background the professional and personal life of the literary professor François, an expert on Joris-Karl Huysmans, is highlighted. Finally, he submisses to the new Islamic rules.
