Synopsis: WorldCat: A mute boy is held captive by the strange proprietress of an inn. "The horrors endured by Dickens' most downtrodden characters are akin to what Aaron has to endure at the hands of evil Miss Grackle in The Half-A-Moon Inn". Aaron's mother fails to return home with his 12th birthday present and he sets out in a blizzard to find her. [He gets lost in the woods and snow, yet reaches the Inn.
