Synopsis: Isle of the Demon Gods - Once again, Alan MacDougall was forced to return to the worlds of Lucifer to save his beloved Elspeth. But this time, when he entered the third gate from the ruined tower, he found the Isle of Scath far different from the other two worlds he had seen. There were worlds for the former Celtic gods. But Scath was a place ruled by the rebellious demons who had been the gods of ancient Sumeria, Chaldea, and Babylon. There Scathach, legendary Sorceress of Scath, vied for control with the demon Amaruduk. Scathach welcomed MacDougall to her monstrous castle and revealed, under a spell, all his (real or illusory) past lives. But then the evil Celtic gods, who had previously vowed to kill MacDougall, arrived in a magic boat. Scathach invited them into her castle. And after that, all became chaos as MacDougall sought desperately to escape back to his own world. (from the back cover of the Del Rey Books first edition)
