"This novel is based on a novella entitled BRIDGE TO AZRAEL which appeared in Amazing Stories February 1964 copyright (C) 1963 by Ziff-Davis Publishing Company. Under the title ENDLESS SHADOW the same text was published as half of Ace Doublebook F-299 copyright (C) 1964 by John Brunner (copyright assigned 1966 to Brunner Fact & Fiction Limited); the rights in the latter edition reverted to the author in 1971. The present text has been wholly revised and expanded to 150% of the length of the former novella."
