- The compound design, book cover and jacket identically, contains front and spine illustrations, probably by different artists, unsigned. (Another collection of Nesbit stories, some previously published in magazines with Millar illustrations and some with another artist, shows compound design containing reproductions from magazine illustrations by the two artists.)
- ABEbooks.com 2018-03-07: One dealer offers "True first British printing. No jacket as issued." and provides an image of the entire book cover, burgundy with gold lettering and artwork. Another dealer offers "First edition, first impression, with first issue point of p. 96 reading p. 69. This book is rare in the dust jacket." and provides an image of front and spine, red with black lettering and artwork. The one cover design is identical to the other jacket design.

Oswald Bastable and Others | 1905-00-00 | E. Nesbit | Wells Gardner, Darton & Co. | 6/-?Prior to decimilisation (1968-1971), UK books were priced
in shillings, or shillings and pence, where 20 shillings
equals one pound and 12 old pence equals one shilling.
Shillings were indicated with a variety of suffixes, e.g.
3s, 3', 3", 3/ all mean 3 shillings. Any number after that
is additional pence, usually 6 (half a shilling) but
sometimes 3 or 9 (a quarter of a shilling or three-quarters
of a shilling). |
