Synopsis: Connor and Raven have settled into their new life but their son Copper, considered to be half-breed is not so happy. Hurt by the comments of a full-Drakken female Rosella and still concerned by the hatchling that was left behind when they travelled to the new world Copper uses a portal to fly back to Darkspire Reaches where he becomes trapped. Raven and Connor along with other dissatisfied half-breeds follow him through the portal to rescue him. They discover Darkspires has changed since they left and many fear a serpent who steals maidens for their magic. The grim discovery of identity of the serpent and her intentions cause Connor and Raven to look deep inside themselves to fight this new evil.
