Note: Norman Spinrad wrote the following (on Facebook) about the cover for this edition: "My apologies to the people and the City of New Orleans for the misleading and insulting cover that Tor has insisted on putting on THE PEOPLE'S POLICE .... I've done all I can to no avail to get a cover to reflect my true feelings about the city as does the novel." He later explained that he felt the cover expressed a "Black Lives Matter" vs. a "Blue Lives Matter" conflict, which he felt was an insult both to his book and to the people of New Orleans.
