Synopsis: Publisher: Cecco was a dog and he was made of wood. But that did not one whit diminish his adventurous spirt. Forth into the wide world Cecco went and the tale of his wanderings will make every child happy with that sense of fellowship that springs only from dangers bravely borne. Impulsive and generous, once Cecco offered his stout tail for a lever, and thereby lost half of it. On another occasion he guarded the coin-cup of a blind man, and by his pleasant mien and official manner, gained for that gentleman quite unusual wealth. Though only a wooden dog Cecco has a heart of gold. He also looks upon life with the wise eye of a philosopher.
