- Two of the illustrations are reflexive. That at the end of Chapter I, Found in the Attic, shows a hand picking this book from the top of a stack (but its front cover title is More Adventres of Alice). The last page of the novel (p. 157 viewed at HathiTrust) shows the running chapter header; some text; a drawing of Alice; more text closing "And that was the end of the story in the book that Betsy found in the attic."; and the drawing of an open book in hand, with the right-hand page showing the same five elements.
