Note: According to Delany's brief "Note on the text of this edition" in the 1982 Bantam edition, he "restore[d] certain typographical complexities, included in the original manuscript, that fifteen years ago "Babel-17"'s initial publisher was unable to include for technical reasons. As well, some extremely minor cuts have been restored".
