Note: The 1910 edition changes the title to "Элексир жизни (Eleksir zhizni)" with the typo in the word "Элексир". Later editions use either "Жизненный эликсир" or the corrected title of "Эликсир жизни". According to Fantlab, the novel was actually originally written in French. It is unclear if the French edition was ever published and who translated it into Russian and if all the available edition use the same Russian text.
