Title: To Leave a Mark Title Record # 49187
Author: Kim Stanley Robinson
Date: 1982-11-00
Type: SHORTFICTION
Length: novella
Language: English
Note: This story is almost identical to the first part of Kim Stanley Robinson's novel Icehenge. Slight changes were made to the dates mentioned, as well as to the names of minor characters and of the names of cities on Mars. In addition, the nature of the protagonist's previous relationships to certain male characters have been altered to give a more nuanced emotional background to the events which unfold in the story. Most notably, this story explicitly mentions Pluto as the location of the monument to be erected, while the same passage in Icehenge does not.
