Note: This story is not included in the John Jakes bibliography found in "The Best of John Jakes" but Robinson in "Who's Hugh" attributes it to Jakes based upon information in Frank H. Parnell's "Monthly Terrors".
In the appearance in Tales of the Frightened, Spring 1957, Occurrence is misspelled on the title page of the story although it is spelled correctly in the table of contents and header pages.
