One frequently-reprinted translation appeared in The Works of Guy de Maupassant [17 volumes] (Akron, Ohio: St. Dunstan Society, 1903; edited and published by M. Walter Dunne). It is not clear which of the many translators who contributed to the complete edition worked on "Le Horla"; contributing translators include A. E. Henderson, Albert M. Cohn McMaster, Louise Charlotte Garstin Quesada, Percy Fitzhugh, Henri C. Olinger, Adolphe Cohn, and perhaps others. This translation has been reprinted many times, with the collective translator credit or, more often, uncredited.
