Synopsis: The editorial contends that science-fiction and fantasy writers won't simply be able to trot out the handy "force field" as a way to get their heroes out of a fix. Ongoing experiments at Princeton University, called Project Matterhorn, may soon come up with fields of invisible magnetic forces to deflect incoming missiles.
