Title: "I Remember Lemuria!" Title Record # 80573
Author: Richard S. Shaver
Date: 1945-03-00
Type: SHORTFICTION
Length: novella
Series: Mutan Mion
Language: English
Note: According to Ray Palmer, the original manuscript read like "the statement of a man who sincerely believes every word he has said is the truth. As an editor, I expanded the basic 10,000 word manuscript to the 31,000 words, and added the 'action' and 'plot flavor' that would make it read less like a dull recitation" (quoted on page 116 of Michael Burkin's "A Culture of Conspiracy: Apocalyptic Visions in Contemporary America".) There is some disagreement as to the exact extent of Palmer's involvement, but it seems clear that he fictionalized Shaver's text.
