Synopsis: On a Danish estate in the 1780s, a young nobleman comes home, who will inherit the estate if his uncle doesn't get a son from the young wife he married. The uncle mourns the death of his first son; and he challenges a mother to save her own son from prison by completing the impossible task of singlehandedly mowing an entire field of rye in a day.
