Note: 22 illustrations? Cruikshank contributed perhaps 22 illustrations to the 1823 volume and 11 illustrations to the 1826 volume. How this accounts for any front cover, frontispiece, or title page illustration is unknown. John Ruskin discussed these illustrations in some critical work, prior to the 1868 edition that contains 33 illustrations probably, and contains an Introduction by Ruskin certainly.
