Synopsis: The narrator is a selling a brand of relish door-to-door and sharing living quarters with an Oxford scholar. One of his customers is suspected of murder, but the investigation is at a standstill because no body can be found. The salesman gathers information and the scholar ratiocinates, figuring out how the corpse was hidden.
