There has been confusion over the years about the title of this story, with some people thinking it was originally titled "Necessary to Stop the Weeds"; this thread, http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?15927-Weeds-in-Shivers-VII, explains the confusion. The title appears as "Weeds" on the contents page of the issue of Cavalier where it originally appeared; the tagline begins "MORE THAN A GREEN THUMB..." on the artwork on p. 45, followed by a page of artwork with no text, and then the tagline continues "WILL BE NECESSARY TO STOP THE WEEDS" on p.47, followed by the story itself.
