Lee Prosser is a prolific American writer with over five-thousand publications since 1963. Among his books is the memoir titled: Isherwood, Bowles, Vedanta, Wicca, and Me (2001, Writers Club Press). Other book publications include: Running from the Hunter: The Life and Works of Charles Beaumont (1996, Borgo Press), and Night Tigers (2002, Writers Club Press). He is also well-known as a surreal artist and has created many art works over the decades; see reference at www.Askart.com. He is the Book Review Editor at www.Ghostvillage.com and writes a column there under the title of "Bide One's Time." In addition to his other writings, Prosser is the author of over 1500 CD reviews and related jazz articles at www.Jazzreview.com. He has written under nine pennames during his writing career. A composer, Prosser composed the "Ramakrishna Waltz," and other music. Born at Springfield, Missouri on December 31, 1944, he has lived in many places, including Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, New Mexico, and Wyoming. His educational background includes the following degrees: A.A., English, Santa Monica College (1968); pre-law studies at California State University Northridge (1968-69) where he studied Advanced Narrative Writing under American novelist and composer Paul Bowles; BS, Sociology, Southwest Missouri State University; Master of Science, Social Science, Southwest Missouri State University; and, Ph.D. in Ancient Religions, The New Mexico Theological Seminary (1997). Some of his many science fiction and fantasy essays have appeared in such books as The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction by James Gunn (1988, Viking), and Reader's Guide to 20th Century Science Fiction by Marilyn P. Fletcher (1989, American Library Association). Several of his essays have appeared in the books of occult historian, Gerina Dunwich, such as the long essay titled "Witch Stones" published in Dunwich's Guide to Gemstone Sorcery by Gerina Dunwich (2003, New Page Books). His essays have been published in the books of paranormal researcher, Jeff Belanger. Many of his prolific essays have covered science fiction and fantasy authors, jazz musicians, and many important topics in the areas of the supernatural, occult, and paranormal. His most recent fiction and poetry has appeared in the literary journal, Voices, published by Alice V. Spencer. Prosser is a Certified Spiritual Alchemy Teacher at The Order of Spiritual Alchemy, an Independent Priest of the Sacred Gnosis after the Order of Melchizadek of the Universal Gnostic Church, a member of the Gnostic Yoga Fellowship, an Adept and Master of the Temple with The Magickal Order of the Golden Dawn, an Adept and Druid Archpriest with the Ancient Order of Druids in America. He is a lifelong Vedantist and writes frequently about the philosophy of Vedanta. He married Debra J. Cunningham at Clayton, New Mexico on December 6, 1994. He is the father of two daughters, Mandy and Dawn. His hobbies include collecting postcards, exploring ghost towns, gardening, and photography. Prosser has cats and dogs. He is currently working on a biography of Gerina Dunwich, and a biography of Sri Ramakrishna. Prosser and his wife live in a very old Victorian two-story home.
