S. N. Lewitt and Shariann Lewitt are one and the same person. For what it's worth, the "N" literally stands for "Nothing", because she doesn't have a middle name. (I have this on good authority: her husband, whom I've worked with.)

Also, apparently the reason for the initials is that Ace said SF by women authors doesn't sell, so they needed a different name. Tor was ok with the full name, thus the publisher switch.
