Locus1 says that this authors true name is Murakami Takuji. His Wikipedia page says that Murakami Takuji was his birth name, and is not explicit about whether he had the name legally changed, although that is the name they use for him throughout the page. This page also mentions that "as of 2011, Mayumura is a professor of the Graduate School of Osaka University of Arts". Checking that university, there is no listing for Murakami Takuji, but they do list Taku Mayumura (accessed 2011-02-26) as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Literature, which lends credence to the assumption that this is now his legal name.
