Weldon Cobb was a journalist in Chicago, listed in the local directories as such until 1891. He wrote stories in various genres under several pseudonyms, including (at least) Frank V. Webster (used by several other authors as well) for cowboy stories, Robert Steel (a house name used for Street & Smith's Comrades, Stanley Norris, and possibly Genevieve Ulmar, as well as several others. He published in a wide variety of Dime Novels.
