Several sources tell us that this is the pseudonym for "Mrs. Muirson Blake" but, unfortunately, none of them know the author's true first name. She is also listed in some sources as "Mrs. Moore", hence she may have been married twice. The closest we have to a biography of her is at Answers.com.
