Kae Charles is English-born, but has lived in Wales since her mid-teens. She is married to a Welshman and has three Welsh-born children, all of whom are teenagers.

She started writing at the age of 10 when she was given the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, which she read in three weeks. Kae is a fan of Tolkien's work, and has most of his books. She also enjoys Star Wars, which she saw when it was first released in 1977.

Amongst her many interests are medieval weaponry, castles, photography, and art (she has drawn many characters and scenes from her own work). She also bakes and decorates novelty cakes.

Kae has a great love of mountains and forests, and in many ways, shares her love of the outdoors with her character of Atalaya Igraine Karn. Incidentally, Atalaya is her own nickname, and was given it by a Spanish pen-friend whilst still at school.

Satan's Moon was written in 1977.

At present (September 2008), Kae is currently proof-reading book 3 in the SATAN'S MOON series, and is also writing a children's book, of which she is also the illustrator.
